The New Energy Solar business acquires, owns and manages large scale solar generation facilities. It was established in November 2015 with the objective of generating positive social impact alongside attractive financial returns through the generation of renewable energy sold under long term contracts. The Business has successfully acquired a large portfolio of assets and has a deep pipeline of opportunities across Australia and the United States. The Business aims to build out a diversified portfolio of assets across different regions and, through active management, optimize returns and minimise risks for investors.

We may also invest in other renewable energy assets including wind, geothermal, hydro-electricity, hybrid solutions and associated investments such as battery and other storage, smart metering and other potential future technologies.

The Business’ investment objective is to acquire, own and manage large scale solar power plants which have contracted cash flows from creditworthy energy purchasers and to help investors generate positive social impacts and financial returns.



New Energy Solar is managed by a subsidiary of Walsh & Company Asset Management. Walsh & Company is a Sydney-based specialist global fund manager with over $5.3 billion in assets under management, co-founded by Max Walsh in 2007.



The directors of New Energy Solar have considerable experience in funds management, infrastructure and energy advisory. As investment bankers and financial market experts in natural resources, they have advised the world’s leading energy and infrastructure companies on mergers, acquisitions and a broad range of capital market transactions.

Investment Manager

New Energy Solar Manager Pty Limited (ACN 609 166 645) (Investment Manager) is the investment manager of the Trust and the Company.

The officers of the Investment Manager with the primary responsibility for management of the Trust and the Company are Alex MacLachlan, John Martin and Tom Kline.


Like all investments, an investment in New Energy Solar carries risks which may result in the loss of income or principal invested.
